Thunderbirds bring lightning, storms, cleansing, and thunder. There is a shift happening as the herring return to spawn and our New Year begins. The spring equinox brings lushness, vibrancy, light, new beginnings, nourishment and new life. This intricate swamp grass basket was woven by my late Nuu-Chah-Nulth Granny Elsie Robinson. It was gifted to me by my mama, I loved hearing stories about Thunderbird growing up.

This lightning design was inspired but our relationship to the Thunderbirds and beings.
