Vinyl Sticker – Strawberry

Artwork by Jessica Chickite Ligwilda’xw, We Wai Kai First Nation

Sticker size: 10cm x 10cm

Strawberry season always starts the same way. Auntie says, “We’re just going for a little walk.” That’s how you know you’ll be out there awhile. The berries are ready, the sun is warm, and Auntie’s already reminding you to pick gently and leave some behind for the bids and thank the land.  Later, she tastes one, nods, and smiles like the land personally invited her.

Traditionally,  June is for harvesting, for gathering, and for celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Month — a time to honour stories passed hand to hand, just like berries.
